Bavarian Stories

2019, 9 handcrafted ceramics, 9 interviews

Bavarian Stories is a sound installation made of 9 handmade ceramics. Their forms recall the shape of seashells as well as of human ears. Whispered voices emanate from them. To hear these voices the spectator is invited to get his ear closer to the ceramics, and this way he becomes involved in the youth memories of newcomers in Bavaria. Mainly originating from the refugee centre in Regensburg, these stories contribute to the explanations why these people had to leave their homes.
